A FAMOUS TREBLE FOR WIGAN 10

Will anyone else ever match Wigan’s achievement of winning the three top PAGB Competitions – all in the same year? At Connah’s Quay, after a nail biting tie breaker with 7 times Champions Smethwick, they added the Print Championship to their 2009 victories in the GB Cup and the Inter-Club PDI Championship. The superb photography from everyone was suitably recognised by the judges with an avalanche of maximum (15) scores and until the last 5 prints the top 4 clubs were covered by just one point!

So the same Top Clubs as last year but in a rather different order. Perhaps the most creditable performance was the small (but perfectly formed) North Wales club, Eryri, who made the Final at their 11th attempt and finished in a very creditable 7th place.

The Judges, Chris Palmer, Malcolm Kus and Richard Speirs did a great job, displaying consistency and giving lots of high scores.

Although not quite perfect the quality of the images projected on to the huge screen was much better than in previous years. We will continue to refine our technique and next year the projection will be even better.
